Phase 1 Habitat Survey
A Phase 1 Habitat Survey is a standardised technique for environmental audit and involves classifying and mapping habitats on, and where appropriate adjacent to, the application site. The survey can be ‘extended’ and any features or habitats that are likely to be of importance for notable or protected species, and or prove to be a constraint to development are investigated further and described.
Phase 2 National Vegetation Classification survey
National Vegetation Classification or Phase 2 surveys are standardised method for assessing and classifying different habitat types. This gives much greater detail and habitats are classified in line with national standards.
Other habitat surveys
We can also carry out other habitat surveys such as hedgerow surveys and river corridor surveys.
